The Survive Tribe Shop and Movement, based in Baltimore, Maryland was founded by Danielle Whidby in November of 2017. The shop was inspired by Danielle's personal battle and victory with Cancer. She now inspires those who are battling illness across the world in hopes to help others find joy in the little things in life and peace during the storm.

Danielle's Story:

The phone call I received on July 7th 2016, changed everything. "Your results came back and you have stage 3 breast cancer." Thoughts came rushing through my head a mile a minute. My first thought: "How will I tell my mom and daughter?" I shared the diagnosis with my loved ones not knowing just how much they would impact my journey. My loved ones surrounded me with love, supported me and assured that I would not be fighting this battle alone. The courage I saw rise up within my daughter who at the time was only 6 years old, and the strength of my mother warmed my heart.

During my battle, a few friends asked for my address. I figured they wanted to stop by one day or maybe go and support me during treatment. Shortly after sending out my address, I began receiving surprises in my mailbox. These items came to me unexpectedly and at the perfect time. Quite often, the unexpected blessings arrived on the days that I was feeling down.

My family and friends ( my tribe) sent just what I needed without even realizing how they touched my heart. They delivered gifts of love to my home during my hardest moments. They sent me these blessings to reinforce that I was loved, strong and that anything was possible. These gifts help me to gain the faith enough to believe that "I could" beat cancer. With each surprise my spirit was lifted.

The support I received led me to the launch of the Survive Tribe Shop and Movement. I thought it would be cool to be able to gift loved ones monthly, who are in the process of a struggle or health battle. When going through some of life’s toughest moments, knowing you have someone cheering you on, encouraging and celebrating you helps makes those moments easier to survive.
